Prince Estate Sales conducts on-site estate sales. We are equipped to liquidate traditional estates, secondary homes, farm or multi-building properties, home-based shops, as well as conduct moving or downsizing sales.

Sales are typically held for 3 days and open to the public. Virtually everything is tagged with a price. Shoppers are greeted and assisted by friendly staff. Sales begin at full price with an increasing discount percentage each consecutive day. We accept cash, credit/debit card, and mobile tap payments.

The Estate Sale Process

Consultation

We begin with a casual, no-pressure consultation to learn about the estate, its contents, and the unique concerns for the sale. A walkthrough tour is always appreciated. We are glad to be flexible with arrangements for busy or non-local clients. This is the time to establish the contents included in the sale, the dates of the sale, and foster a harmonious partnership. We encourage clients to both prepare and freely ask questions! Upon agreement, we enter the sale set-up period.

Sale Set-Up

Depending on the scale and other variables, the set-up period can occur for anywhere from 4 days to multiple weeks. We begin by carefully combing the estate, taking inventory, tidying and organizing. Tables, display cases, fixtures, and other supplies are brought in for effective visual merchandising and optimal sales. Clear and attractive photos are captured ASAP to advertise the sale online and build up interest.

Next, we work to research, appraise, and price items. In addition to our wealth of knowledge on pricing and the market, we utilize services like Worthpoint and eBay Product Research and our network of experts and niche dealers. We strive to price tag virtually everything for sale, even dollar items. This empowers buyers with confidence and results in more sales! If we discover a particularly rare and/or valuable item during set-up that would be more appropriate for auction or specialty consignment, we immediately alert our client and present options.

Finally, we fine-tune and (literally) polish before the sale opens! We vacuum, replace light bulbs, ensure potential trip spots are marked, and all else necessary for a safe and successful estate sale.

Sale Days

Sales are generally 3-day events, though some can be 2 or 4 day events. They are listed and advertised on EstateSales.Net, the premier and most-trafficked estate sale website, in which Prince Estate Sales is a gold member. Sales are also advertised via social media, email, and directional road signage placed in the local community.

The first day is full price with an increasing discount percentage each consecutive day. We utilize Square POS and accept cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile tap payments. Small valuables are kept stationed or encased at the check-out area. Staff greet and circulate around to provide help and ensure smooth operating. We believe good customer service is imperative for a successful estate sale.

Post-Sale

Once the sale is complete, a day is usually needed to take down the sale, tidy up, and accommodate any remaining furniture pick-ups. We are able to advise, present options, and make referrals regarding content remaining after the sale. Within 7 days after the final sale date, a cashiers check and sales report will be ready. We are happy to hand deliver (if possible!) or mail the check and sales report.
